Elgin County Canine – Group Class & Liability Policy 1. Group Class Eligibility & Behavioral Requirements Our group classes are designed for dogs that are comfortable and safe in a social, multi-dog environment. To ensure the safety and success of all participants, we enforce the following behavioral standards: • Dog & Human Friendliness: All dogs attending group classes must be friendly and manageable around other dogs and unfamiliar humans. • Zero Tolerance for Disruption or Aggression: Group classes are not the appropriate venue for treating reactivity, severe anxiety, or aggression. If a dog displays aggressive behavior, excessive reactivity, or extreme stress that disrupts the learning environment, they will be asked to leave the class. • No-Refund Policy for Dismissals: If your dog is asked to leave a group class due to behavioral or safety issues, no refund will be issued for the remaining sessions. 2. Alternative Training Options We believe every dog deserves a chance to learn and succeed. If your dog is not a fit for a group environment, we are still here to help: • One-on-One Lessons: Our private, one-on-one lessons are gladly available and specifically structured to address and rehabilitate dog-to-dog aggression, human aggression, or severe reactivity in a controlled, safe setting. 3. Liability & Release Waiver By enrolling in any training program, class, or lesson with Elgin County Canine, clients acknowledge and agree to the following liability terms: Assumption of Risk & Liability Release: Dog training inherently carries a risk of unpredictable behavior. Elgin County Canine, its owners, trainers, and assistants shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, or dog bites that occur during training. This includes, but is not limited to, any incidents resulting from the mishandling of a dog by its owner, handler, or a third party, or the failure of a handler to follow the trainer's direct instructions. Owners retain full legal and financial responsibility for their dog's actions at all times.
